Regular Season Round 34: Union Mons - Mechelen 81-61

There was an upset in Jemappes where higher ranked Kangoeroes (23-8) were rolled over by ninth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (18-14) 81-61 on Sunday. American guard Marquise Moore (188-1994, college: GMU) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and Zaccharie Mortant (192-1998) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Trenton Gibson (193-2000, college: Indiana St.) responded with 18 points and Swedish forward Zaba Bangala (201-2001) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Union Mons moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Den Bosch and Leuven. Loser Kangoeroes keeps the third position with eight games lost. Union Mons will meet Den Bosch (#7) on the road in the next round. Mechelen will play against Den Helder (#15) and hope to secure a win.
